Cherki Club

The brainchild of a Singaporean born, London based designer, drawing inspiration from her Peranakan heritage, practices and traditions to create one-of-a-kind bags, clothing and accessories.

“Cherki” is a Peranakan card game that was popular amongst the Nonyas (Peranakan women) in the past. 

The founder of Cherki Club aims to preserve her cultural heritage and values by recontextualising some of the ancient traditions of the Peranakan people. 


Sustainability, social impact and togetherness were at the forefront of the designers mind when creating Cherki Club, therefore these themes became the core foundation of the brand strategy. Through visual storytelling, casting and commissioning artists who had the ability to effectively convey the language of Cherki Club, the brand was able to build a cult following in a relatively short amount of time, selling out both capsule collections as well as a handful of intermittent product drops.
